Protect native plants by removing Arctic Scilla from the park. While so many like to see these purple flowers in spring, it is an aggressive bulb that reproduces rapidly through seed and bulblets, creating dense mats that choke out all natives. Come and help! Join us as we continue to remove burdock. In addition to crowding out natives, the burr-like seed heads that come later in the year trap small birds like warblers and hummingbirds. Wear good shoes, long sleeves and gloves. See you in the parking lot!

It’s not autumn without taking our a little aggression on buckthorn! We have made great strides in removing this invasive tree in much of the park. Let’s keep it that way. Wear good shoes for tromping in the woods, Long sleeves and gloves are needed. Dress to avoid ticks!
