Dr. Schneider Memorial

As part of our master planning efforts, we determined that we needed to update the plantings around the memorial to Dr. Schneider to bring it closer to what it was as constructed, yet not replicate it. There was a path from the corner of Fox Lane and Dean that invited visitors up past some beautiful cypress trees to the memorial. We chose serviceberry and redbud to create an allee of flowering trees.

In November 2019, Johnson’s Nursery planted the allee of trees leading up to the memorial to Dr. Schneider. Take a look at this collection of photos. Learn more about Dr. Schneider.

Very special thanks to the family of Dr. David Wagner who gave generously to the project in his memory. Dr. Wagner enjoyed coming to Doctors Park for many years.

NEWS. If you noticed that two benches have been removed from in front of the memorial, know they will be reinstalled after a winter renovation by the Parks Department.
